HotBot was an award-winning search engine aimed at making advanced Web searching seem simple. I stepped in to direct this critical redesign of a product that Lycos had neglected long enough for Google to step into the vacuum and dominate the search space. This redesign stripped HotBot back down to the essence and core functionality which made it so popular in the late 1990s.
