Beautiful Interfaces with CSS
6 Dec 2004 Many books and online resources are available for learning the basics of CSS. Thus, this session will not serve as an introduction. Rather, this session serves to empower you, by providing real-world examples of beautiful interfaces, and by reviewing practical tips you can begin using immediately to build better-looking sites. We'll walk through the steps of some advanced techniques used by CSS pros, so that you understand how and why they work, and can envision your own applications and uses for each technique.
Throwing Tables Out the Window
6 Dec 2004 To keep up with increasingly complex multi-column pages, designers and developers became masters at nesting multiple tables to reproduce any type of layout. You've heard it's possible to eliminate those layout tables by using more CSS, but haven't made the jump yet. Learn the advantages of going tableless, the pitfalls you can avoid, and walk through the steps of a real-world conversion.
